Yet the one they could not provoke even more was his Wang Fei – Yun Qian Meng! Anyone who provoked Chu Wang Fei, must surely be prepared to lose their necks! A breathtaking rebirth, a thrilling marriage, in the blink of an eye the once weak woman had become the honorable Chu Wang Fei! Wang Fei: In the palace chambers, between the feasts, smiles are hiding daggers, with layers and layers of plots and machinations; those who hurt my flesh and blood will have to pay the price. Chu Wang: In these troubled times, carrying the fire beacon, over thousands of miles of fortresses and mountains, I have traveled to the distance to these border stations; if you dare to hurt my wife I will take your life. Wang Fei: In another country, in a foreign land, will his thoughts stay pure? The princess of another nation is graceful and beautiful, will “a pair of people for one life” change? Chu Wang: Returning home, difficult problems arise. As green hills extend into the distance, beautiful flowers and tender feelings grow deeply; dealing with the ruler and his ministers is harder than rising into Heaven. That night, all the monarchs struggled for power, smoke rising all around; that night, the husband and wife were separated, neither humble nor haughty; that night, the land was in great disorder, lying corpses filled the plains; that night, whose heart was confused, whose family was broken, whose country was lost? In the chaos of war, during their separation, separated by thousands of miles of unmoving mountains and rivers, the gentleman’s heart and the wife’s heart never changed. In the lonely city without aid, hand in hand as before, they advanced together while chatting lightly about this West Chu country.

Chu Wang Fei Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator

## My Thoughts on Chu Wang Fei "Chu Wang Fei" promised a clever female lead navigating a historical Chinese setting, and for a while, it delivered. However, my journey with this novel was a rollercoaster, filled with both moments of genuine enjoyment and frustrating dips in quality. ### First Impressions Initially, I was hooked. The premise of a modern police officer transmigrating into the body of a bullied young miss had potential, and the early chapters focused on Yun Qian Meng's sharp wit and meticulous planning. I appreciated her independence and how she used her intelligence to overcome obstacles. The world-building, though dense with unfamiliar terms, was intriguing enough to keep me invested. ### What Works Well The early focus on political intrigue and family power struggles was compelling. Yun Qian Meng's interactions with the various characters, especially her initial "face-slapping" moments, were satisfying. I enjoyed seeing her navigate the complexities of the ancient Chinese court and slowly build alliances. The slow-burn romance with Chu Fei Yang, while not initially the main focus, was a welcome addition to the plot. ### Areas of Concern Unfortunately, as the story progressed, several issues began to surface. I found the plot became increasingly convoluted, with repetitive "smart" talking that felt more like endless monologues. The villains often felt one-dimensional, and their constant failures to outsmart the MC became tiresome. I also struggled with the moral ambiguity of the characters, particularly the female lead. While some level of ruthlessness is expected in this genre, certain events felt gratuitous and difficult to reconcile with her supposed modern ethics. The male lead also underwent a transformation, becoming overly obsessive and undermining his earlier appeal. ### ⚠️ Spoiler Warning Several reviewers have pointed out disturbing plot developments in later chapters. These include the forced marriage of a young girl to her rapist, the death of an infant, and other morally questionable decisions made by the main characters. These events significantly impacted my enjoyment of the story and raised serious concerns about the author's handling of sensitive topics. ### Final Verdict "Chu Wang Fei" had the potential to be a truly exceptional web novel. The initial premise and clever female lead were promising, but the story ultimately faltered due to a convoluted plot, inconsistent character development, and morally questionable choices. While I enjoyed certain aspects of the novel, I cannot wholeheartedly recommend it, especially given the disturbing events that occur in the later chapters. I suggest approaching this novel with caution and being prepared for a significant decline in quality as the story progresses.
