Descent of the Phoenix – 13 Years Old Princess Consort Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator

## My Thoughts on Descent of the Phoenix – 13 Years Old Princess Consort "Descent of the Phoenix – 13 Years Old Princess Consort" is a web novel I dove into with a mix of curiosity and caution, given the mixed bag of opinions surrounding it. It's a reincarnation story with a strong female lead, a genre I often enjoy, so I was hoping for a fun ride. ### First Impressions The initial chapters definitely grab your attention. We're thrown into a world of ancient China with a reincarnated assassin, which is a compelling setup. The early romance is also a bit of a surprise, as it doesn't drag on like in some other novels. I felt like the story was quickly moving forward with the plot and the main characters. ### What Works Well One of the most appealing aspects is the female lead's, Liu Yue, no-nonsense attitude. She's an assassin, and she acts like one, which is a refreshing change from some of the more passive or naive protagonists in similar stories. She is ruthless and cool, and is not afraid to threaten or kill others to get what she wants. I also appreciated the plot moving towards her mother's side of the family and unravelling that mystery. The romance, while fast-paced, is also a highlight for some. It's a love story where the characters aren't afraid to express their feelings, which is a welcome change. ### Areas of Concern However, some aspects did give me pause. The "OP" nature of the main character is a recurring point of contention. While it's fun to see her dominate, it can sometimes feel like there's a lack of tension or real challenge. It can also be hard to relate to her because she is too out of control, and almost a sociopath. I also saw that the male lead's strength is not always apparent, and he is often saved by the main character. Some readers may find the plot shallow and lacking in depth, making it difficult to stay invested in the long run. ### ⚠️ Spoiler Warning Some readers have expressed concerns about the male lead becoming a "yandere" after a particular incident. This is a significant plot point that could impact your enjoyment of the story. ### Final Verdict Overall, "Descent of the Phoenix – 13 Years Old Princess Consort" is a decent read if you're looking for a fast-paced, action-packed story with a strong female lead and early romance. However, be aware of the potential issues with the MC being too OP, and a plot that may lack depth for some. It's not the most original story out there, but it can be an enjoyable way to pass the time.
