The court politics and war elements are well-integrated and add depth to the romance, preventing it from feeling too fluffy or one-dimensional. I particularly appreciated the realistic portrayal of their relationship, acknowledging that their individual priorities and lives don't always perfectly align. Plus, the smut is undeniably hot! ### ⚠️ Spoiler Warning Okay, let's address the elephant in the room: the non-con. It's there, it's addressed (eventually), and it's a major point of contention. Yuan Zheng essentially blackmails Cen Yelan into a sexual relationship, and it's uncomfortable to read. However, the story does explore the consequences of his actions, and there's a significant "wife-chasing" arc where Yuan Zheng has to atone for his past behavior.
