I ride through the snowstorm, originally to return home.
Zhao Yun’s ideal person was a man of great appearance and reputation. Apart from not liking him, there was nothing bad about him.

## My Thoughts on I Ride Through the Snowstorm
### First Impressions
"I Ride Through the Snowstorm" immediately pulled me in with its promise of ancient China, palace intrigue, and a healthy dose of *ahem* adult content. The synopsis hinted at a complex plot, and I was eager to see how the author would balance the political maneuvering with the more intimate aspects of the story. With the tags indicating both "caring protagonist" and "arrogant characters," I knew I was in for an emotional rollercoaster.
### What Works Well
The relationship between Pei Changhuai and Zhao Yun is truly the heart of this novel. I found myself completely invested in their dynamic, from Zhao Yun's bold and teasing personality to Pei Changhuai's initial stoicism slowly melting away. The author does a fantastic job of developing their connection, making it believable and engaging. I especially appreciated how the political elements were woven into the narrative, using personal relationships to drive the plot forward. The use of flashbacks and foreshadowing also helped me piece together the story and understand the characters' motivations. The author created villains with understandable reasons for their behavior, which added depth to the story.
### Areas of Concern
While I enjoyed the smut, there were moments where the consent felt a bit dubious. However, I was relieved that the story had an actual plot that wasn't just there to serve the intimate scenes.
### ⚠️ Spoiler Warning
I do think it's worth mentioning that Xie Congjun's character is more complex than he initially appears. His internal struggles and possessiveness added another layer to the story, and his relationship with Pei Yu was quite interesting.
### Final Verdict
Overall, "I Ride Through the Snowstorm" is a captivating read that I highly recommend. The well-developed characters, intricate plot, and satisfying resolution make it a worthwhile experience. While there are a few minor issues, the strengths of the novel far outweigh its weaknesses. I'd happily revisit this world and its characters again.
