Description

In all my life, I’ve only made two mistakes that I regret. The first was filling out my entrance exam application wrong, and the second was offending Zhong Yuan. If I had to use an idiom to describe the impact of my mistake, it would be simply, ‘Life is no better than death’. And if I had to use an idiom to describe Zhong Yuan’s offenses to me, it would be simply, ‘Too many crimes to record’. And yet, for as evil and wicked as he was, he attracted girls the way that flowers attracted bees and butterflies. It happened that one day, for some reason, I taunted Zhong Yuan, “The King of Hell sent you to torture some more people, didn’t he?” Without a change in expression, he replied, “In order to torture fewer people, I decided to just choose one person to torture for the rest of my life.” I asked him, “What do you mean?” He smiled at me and answered, “If you don’t go to hell, who will?”

If You Don’t Go To Hell, Who Will? Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator

## My Thoughts on If You Don’t Go To Hell, Who Will? "If You Don’t Go To Hell, Who Will?" certainly grabbed my attention with its quirky title. After diving in, I found a college rom-com that, while not groundbreaking, offered plenty of laughs and some genuinely charming characters. ### First Impressions My initial impression was that this is a lighthearted, easy read, perfect for when you want something fun without heavy plotlines. It's very much a slice-of-life story focusing on the blossoming (and often hilariously awkward) relationship between the main characters. ### What Works Well The absolute star of this novel is the female lead, Mu Er. She's unconventional, a bit of an airhead, and definitely not your typical web novel heroine. She's thick-skinned and has strong back ups. Her internal monologue and reactions are a constant source of amusement. She doesn't always make the smartest choices, but her intentions are good, and she has a set of principles. I also appreciated how the author gradually reveals her character through small details and actions, making her feel like a real person. The male lead, Zhong Yuan, is more of a mixed bag. He's the typical handsome, wealthy, and popular guy, but his initial behavior towards Mu Er borders on childish bullying. I will say he is very sweet and the author makes you root for him. Even though he is very sweet, I found his one-sided devotion and dogged pursuit of the MC in the first half of the story really balances out their relationship. Although on the surface it seems he's tormenting her, at the bottom of it all he's the one that's truly suffering trying to get her to notice him. ### Areas of Concern The humor does seem to dip a bit once the leads officially get together. The story shifts to more of a slice-of-life feel, but some of the spark is lost in the process. ### ⚠️ Spoiler Warning The first reviewer mentions issues with the s*x scenes towards the end of the story. While I don't mind authors adding s*x into the story, I'm not particularly fond of gratuitous, descriptive s*x as fan-service that adds nothing of substance to the progression of the story. But that's not the real problem, the problem I DO have is when authors describe s*x where only one party is really enjoying it. ### Final Verdict Overall, I found "If You Don’t Go To Hell, Who Will?" to be an enjoyable and funny read. The female lead is a standout character. If you're looking for a lighthearted, character-driven rom-com with plenty of laughs, this might be right up your alley. Just be aware that the humor might wane a bit in the later chapters.
