Description

When Gu Yu woke up, he found himself transmigrated to a werebeast planet and becoming an ‘artificial female’ given to the imperial marshal. Shudder. While the males on Brilliant Splendor are so capable that they can freely switch from beast to human form, the females were too fragile in human form and lost the ability to become human during the catastrophe. It was the most common desire of the males – that their partners have human forms. To satisfy this desire, a new product appeared on the market: artificial females – biological robots that are identical to natural human females, equipped with intelligent chips, and capable of responding to stimuli. Planet Law stipulates that, in order to ensure the birth rate of the young, if one does not marry on their own by the age of eighty, they will be issued a partner by the Star Network. Brilliant Splendor’s oldest prime bachelor, Marshal Cyno Bruce, made a decision that shocked the network when he was about to turn eighty. – Marry an artificial female. Cyno: Marry a beast female, no way! As for artificial females? Well, it’s cheap and it will not be a hindrance. Later… Really fragrant! _(:з”∠)_ Baby, let me hold you!

Interstellar Rare Species Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator

## My Thoughts on Interstellar Rare Species "Interstellar Rare Species" is a web novel that certainly sparked a lot of discussion, and after diving in, I can see why. It's a blend of sci-fi, fantasy, and romance with a heavy dose of slice-of-life, centered around a mute MC who transmigrates into a world with unique gender dynamics. While it has its charms, some aspects left me feeling conflicted. ### First Impressions Initially, I was drawn in by the premise. A world where "females" are rare and the MC, due to his muteness, is initially mistaken for an artificial one? Intriguing! The early chapters had a certain freshness, and I was eager to see how the story would unfold. I also appreciated the translator's work; the writing flowed well, making it an easy read. ### What Works Well The MC, Gu Yu, is undeniably endearing. His kindness and desire to contribute to society, despite his past trauma and low self-esteem, made me root for him. His journey to overcome his muteness and pursue his dream of becoming a singer is genuinely heartwarming. I also found the ML, Cyno, to be a patient and supportive partner, which created a nice dynamic. Many readers seemed to enjoy the fluffy, feel-good nature of the romance, describing it as a "beautiful gem" and "pure fluff." The world-building, while controversial, is certainly unique and sparked a lot of discussion. ### Areas of Concern However, it's impossible to ignore the significant criticisms leveled against the novel. The portrayal of gender roles and the treatment of "artificial females" and "transgender females" (males forcefully transitioned) raised serious red flags for me. Some of the dialogue and character interactions felt, at best, tone-deaf and, at worst, actively harmful. The "male" and "female" dynamics seemed to fall into stereotypical portrayals, making the story feel more like a heterosexual romance with swapped pronouns than a genuine exploration of BL themes. The focus on reproduction and the societal pressure to have children also felt heavy-handed. ### ⚠️ Spoiler Warning Some readers pointed out that the MC is later revealed to be a "natural female beast," capable of giving birth, which further complicates the narrative. While some found this development exciting, others felt it reinforced problematic gender stereotypes. The MC's ability to "cure" forcefully transitioned males through his singing also raised concerns about the author's views on transgender identities. ### Final Verdict "Interstellar Rare Species" is a mixed bag. While it boasts a charming MC, a sweet romance, and a unique world, it also stumbles significantly in its portrayal of gender and sexuality. If you're looking for a fluffy read with minimal depth, you might find something to enjoy here. However, if you're sensitive to potentially problematic themes, proceed with caution. Ultimately, I can't wholeheartedly recommend this novel due to its concerning elements.
