Review Notes

## My Thoughts on Passing Through as the Cannon Fodder Supporting Role’s Grandma "Passing Through as the Cannon Fodder Supporting Role’s Grandma" offers a unique twist on the quick transmigration genre, and I found myself initially drawn in by the premise. The idea of a protagonist hopping between worlds as a grandmother figure, tasked with protecting cannon fodder characters, definitely stood out from the crowd. ### First Impressions The initial arcs were quite enjoyable. I especially appreciated the focus on familial love and the heartwarming interactions between the MC, Tang Lihua, and her "grandchildren." The early stories felt fresh and engaging, and I was eager to see how the author would develop this concept. There's a certain charm in watching Tang Lihua navigate different worlds, using her wisdom and skills to guide her charges away from their original, often unfortunate, fates. ### What Works Well Tang Lihua is a likable protagonist. She's portrayed as competent and caring, genuinely invested in the well-being of her grandchildren. I liked that she wasn't just going through the motions but actively nurturing and teaching them to become better versions of themselves. The absence of a romantic subplot for the MC was also a welcome change. The focus remained firmly on family relationships and the mission at hand, which kept the story engaging. Also, the villains receive satisfying punishments which is always a win in my book! ### Areas of Concern As the story progressed, I felt the quality dipped. The later arcs felt repetitive and less engaging than the earlier ones. Tang Lihua's powers seemed to escalate to an almost absurd level, making it feel like she was too overpowered and didn't need to rely on her wit or cunning anymore. This made some of the later conflicts feel less impactful. The system also became more of a plot device than an integral part of the story. It was just there to give MC whatever she needed. ### ⚠️ Spoiler Warning Some readers have expressed concerns about specific arcs, particularly the "You family" arc, where the MC's power level becomes excessively high. There's also mention of an arc with abusive content that some found unnecessary and disturbing. One reader was also not happy about the first arc and felt like the MC should have been more fair and understanding to all characters. ### Final Verdict "Passing Through as the Cannon Fodder Supporting Role’s Grandma" has its moments of brilliance. The premise is unique, and the initial arcs are genuinely heartwarming. However, the repetitive nature of the later arcs and the increasingly overpowered MC ultimately detract from the overall experience. While I enjoyed aspects of this novel, I can't wholeheartedly recommend it without reservations. It's a fun, light read, but be prepared for a potential drop in quality as the story progresses. I'd give it a solid 3 out of 5 stars.
