Description

Our male and female lead are in the online entertainment circle, he on the dubbing side and she on the music cover side. The circle is one where physical appearance is generally anonymous and you are known by your online handle and your voice. Gu Sheng, a relatively unknown online singer who goes by the handle Sheng Sheng Man and who specializes in cover songs of ancient-style music, is a huge fan of Qiang Qing Ci, a very famous and well-loved CV (character voice) artist (i.e. dubber, voiceover artist). It was like, love at first listen. One morning, she was chatting with a friend in her online “room” when his voice suddenly appeared in her headset, describing to her in detail how to prepare a food dish she had been talking about. This began their online chats about food. Gu Sheng can scarcely believe that she is talking to her idol, and he seems to be trying to progress the relationship further.

Really, Really Miss You Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator

## My Thoughts on Really, Really Miss You "Really, Really Miss You" promised a sweet escape, and while it delivered on the fluff, it also left me wanting more substance. It's a light romance centered around the online world of voice acting and music, and the burgeoning relationship between Gu Sheng and Mo Qingcheng. ### First Impressions Initially, I was drawn in by the cute premise and the promise of a heartwarming story. The online interactions between the leads were definitely a highlight. There's something inherently charming about their digital courtship, especially with the added layer of music and food. However, as the story progressed, I found myself feeling a bit underwhelmed. ### What Works Well The novel excels at creating a feel-good atmosphere. Many readers, myself included, appreciated the lack of heavy angst and the devotion between the two leads. It's the kind of story you pick up when you need a guaranteed happy ending and a break from more intense narratives. The translator deserves massive props for going above and beyond by including links to the music and providing cultural context, significantly enhancing the reading experience. I also enjoyed the emphasis on ancient Chinese culture woven into the modern setting. ### Areas of Concern My biggest issue lies with the female lead, Gu Sheng. I found her passivity frustrating. She often felt like a blank slate, reacting to events rather than actively shaping them. I struggled to understand what drew Mo Qingcheng to her beyond her voice. Their interactions, particularly in the real world, sometimes felt stifled, relying heavily on blushing and minimal dialogue. The male lead often makes decisions for her without much input, which, while some may find romantic, felt a bit forceful to me. ### ⚠️ Spoiler Warning Several readers have pointed out instances where the male lead declares their relationship status or makes marriage plans without consulting the female lead, which some found overly assertive. ### Final Verdict "Really, Really Miss You" is a decent, fluffy read if you're looking for something light and undemanding. Just be prepared for a passive female lead and a plot that prioritizes sweetness over depth. If you enjoyed "A Slight Smile Is Very Charming," you might find something to like here, but don't expect the same level of character development or witty banter. For me, it was a pleasant but ultimately forgettable experience.
