Description

The second prince has come of age. To celebrate the advent of such an occasion, the search for a suitable bride began. My younger sister was expected to go to the Royal Palace as a candidate. However, despite this, she eloped the day before her departure. I, the older sister she left behind, looked almost exactly like her – so much that we were often mistaken for twins… One month, right? For just one month, shall I substitute in for my sister?

Scapegoat Sister Vs Second Prince Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator

## My Thoughts on Scapegoat Sister Vs Second Prince "Scapegoat Sister Vs Second Prince" promised a cute and fluffy shoujo romance, and for the most part, it delivered. The premise is certainly unique: a horticulture-obsessed older sister, Anessa, forced to impersonate her younger sister at a royal bride selection, only to unexpectedly catch the eye of the second prince, Itaka. While the overall experience was enjoyable, it wasn't without its flaws. ### First Impressions I was immediately charmed by Anessa's quirky personality and her deep love for plants. It's a refreshing change from the typical shoujo heroine, and her passion for gardening is genuinely endearing. The initial chapters were lighthearted and fun, setting the stage for a sweet romance. I also found the story does bear a resemblance to "I Reincarnated into an Otome Game as a Villainess With Only Destruction Flags", AKA "Bakarina". Our MC likes gardening and taking care of herbs etc. (Similar to Bakarina with her farm), she is different from others which naturally catches the attention of the male lead. ### What Works Well The story shines in its simplicity and focus on character interaction. The romance between Anessa and Itaka develops gradually, and I appreciated seeing their feelings grow organically. The prince falls in love first and the MC is a dense one. The plot is easy to follow and the pacing keeps you engaged. Many will find the story to be a quick, sweet, and satisfying read. ### Areas of Concern Unfortunately, the translation quality takes a noticeable dip around chapter 5. This made some sections confusing, with dialogue and internal monologues blurring together. It did become difficult to discern who was speaking at times, which detracted from my overall enjoyment. I did find the age gap a little disturbing, at 6 years older than the ML. The ending felt a bit rushed and could have benefited from a more fleshed-out conclusion, perhaps with a glimpse into their future. ### ⚠️ Spoiler Warning Some readers might find the "not like other girls" trope a bit cringey, and the prince's characterization could be inconsistent. He starts as a haughty individual, but shifts to being an unrealistically perfect love interest. Also, the fact that the Sister in Law is a hero adds nothing to the plot. ### Final Verdict Despite its shortcomings, "Scapegoat Sister Vs Second Prince" is a worthwhile read if you're looking for a light and fluffy shoujo romance. The unique premise, charming protagonist, and sweet love story make it an enjoyable experience, even if the translation issues and rushed ending leave something to be desired. I'd recommend it for a quick and easy read, but don't expect a deeply complex or groundbreaking story.
