Description

“Master, the people from the Zhuang family have come to cancel the engagement.” “My fiancé whose beauty was said to be capable of causing the downfall of a city, finally decided to throw me away?” “I think so.” “I want to see this legendary beauty, and confirm whether this bastard is really great as people say, to have no flaws in all 360 degrees, a picturesque appearance however you look at him; does he need me to help him open the corner of his eyes (Epicanthoplasty) or reshape his chin (Genioplasty)?” “Actually, he didn’t come.” “He didn’t? He didn’t even come to cancel the engagement? What a wicked b*tch.” “He definitely will get karma.”

The Rebirth Waste Strikes Back Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator

## My Thoughts on The Rebirth Waste Strikes Back "The Rebirth Waste Strikes Back" promised a comedic ride with a cunning protagonist, and for the most part, it delivered. I went into this novel expecting a lighthearted revenge story, and that's largely what I got, though with a few caveats along the way. ### First Impressions The initial chapters hooked me with the MC, Qi Shaorong's, outrageous personality. He's shamelessly narcissistic, eloquent, and utterly dedicated to beauty (especially in men!). I found myself laughing out loud at his antics and appreciating his unapologetic pursuit of wealth and handsome faces. The premise of a modern surgeon reborn into a xuanhuan world as a "waste" was intriguing, and I was eager to see how he'd turn things around. ### What Works Well The humor is definitely a strong point. Qi Shaorong's sharp wit and over-the-top confidence make him incredibly entertaining. The side characters, especially his loyal followers, are also well-developed and have their own compelling backstories and romantic interests. I appreciated that the story didn't solely focus on the MC, allowing for some refreshing changes of pace and exploration of other relationships. The plot, while not deeply complex, kept me engaged with its face-slapping moments and the MC's clever business ventures. ### Areas of Concern My biggest issue lies with the male lead, Zhuang Hao. While initially respectful, his character arc takes a concerning turn. Some of his actions, particularly forcing the MC into re-engagement with an unbreakable contract, felt overbearing and disrespectful. I struggled to understand his shift from aloof young master to a seemingly possessive and controlling partner. Furthermore, I felt he never truly atoned for his initial dismissal of the MC. ### ⚠️ Spoiler Warning Several readers have pointed out that the ML's behavior becomes problematic after he discovers the MC's hidden identity. He uses his power and influence to essentially trap the MC in a relationship, which many found to be a huge departure from his earlier characterization and a significant detriment to the romance. Some reviewers also felt that the ending felt rushed, with too little development on the relationship between the main couple. ### Final Verdict Despite my reservations about the ML, "The Rebirth Waste Strikes Back" is still an enjoyable read, especially if you're looking for a lighthearted and comedic xuanhuan novel. Qi Shaorong's personality alone makes it worth checking out, but be prepared for some potentially frustrating moments with the romance. I'd recommend it with a slight warning: go in expecting a fun ride, but don't expect a perfectly executed romance. Overall, I give it a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars.
