Description

Shi Jin once read a book. It was supposed to be about satisfying the desire for vengeance. The main character, also named Shi Jin, was the sixth son of his harem-novel-protagonist-like father. All was well, while his father was alive at least, but after his death, Shi Jin’s five elder half-brothers tormented him, eventually leading to his death. The protagonist was reborn, determined to take revenge, and… the novel was discontinued. That day, Shi Jin almost spat blood and dropped the book into a shredder. The next day, he died in a car accident. Somehow, when he came to, he had transmigrated into a teenager, a youth also called Shi Jin. There was only one problem. His father had just died. His older brothers were about to torment him… Shi Jin: Let’s eliminate my brothers’ hatred, my goal is to keep my life!

Death Progress Bar Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator

## My Thoughts on Death Progress Bar "Death Progress Bar" hooked me from the start with its intriguing premise: a former policeman transmigrated into a novel with a system and two rapidly filling death progress bars. What I found was far more than just another transmigration story. This novel is a surprisingly emotional rollercoaster, blending action, comedy, drama, and romance in a way that kept me constantly engaged. ### First Impressions Initially, I went in expecting a typical system-driven novel. I was quickly proven wrong. The story dives deep into complex family relationships, particularly the MC's interactions with his brothers. This isn't a simple "hug-the-thighs" scenario; the MC genuinely works to understand and communicate with his brothers, uncovering painful truths along the way. It’s messy, it’s raw, and it's incredibly compelling. ### What Works Well The characters are a major strength. Both the MC and the ML feel believable and are not just cardboard cutouts. Their relationship develops naturally, and I appreciated the equality and mutual respect they share. The side characters are also well-developed and play significant roles in the story. The plot is well-paced, balancing the MC's personal struggles with the ML's more action-oriented plotline within a criminal organization. I found myself constantly surprised by the twists and turns, and the story managed to be both hilarious and heart-wrenching. The writing style is humorous, and I found myself laughing and crying at different points. ### Areas of Concern While I thoroughly enjoyed the novel, I can see how some readers might find the MC's character inconsistent. He is a former police officer who sometimes acts naive or even a bit "s*upid" (according to one reviewer), which can be jarring. Others might find the initial coldness of the ML off-putting, though he warms up considerably as the story progresses. ### ⚠️ Spoiler Warning Some reviews mention that the ending is bittersweet, with a period of sadness before a true happy ending is reached in the epilogue. Additionally, there's a reveal about one of the main villains having in*estuous overtones, which may be disturbing for some readers. Finally, the system, Xiao Si, returns as a little boy who resembles both the MC and ML, creating a rather unique family dynamic. ### Final Verdict Despite a few minor flaws, "Death Progress Bar" is a standout novel that I highly recommend. It's a well-written, emotionally resonant story with likable characters, a compelling plot, and a satisfying ending. If you're looking for a transmigration novel that goes beyond the typical tropes, this one is definitely worth a read.
