Description

It was fated, him and him. Although, being fated didn’t always mean a happy ending for both of them. At least for himself, it was just one big…temptation. Compared to his own weak and frail body, he was more masculine and full of warmth. It wasn’t strange at all to find himself falling deeper and deeper…. But no matter what, he could never let him find out about his true feelings. Or else, they would never have become friends. Crap! He found out! Why did he have to get drunk and blurt out the truth?! He’s in deep trouble, with no other choice but to avoid him… He…he approached him, asking to be in a relationship with him? Was…was it a prank? He would leave after he was done playing with him… Was he right? Could the sunshine boy he fell in love with be so cruel?

Heart of Glass Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator

## My Thoughts on Heart of Glass "Heart of Glass" is a deceptively simple story that really got under my skin. It's a romance, a slice-of-life, and a shounen ai all rolled into one, focusing on the unlikely relationship between a seemingly cold university student and a gentle teaching assistant. I went in expecting something typical, but I was pleasantly surprised by its unique approach. ### First Impressions Initially, I wasn't entirely sold on the main character (MC), Guo Jinshan. His gruff exterior and blunt way of thinking definitely rubbed me the wrong way. However, as the story unfolded, I started to understand where he was coming from. It's a testament to the author's skill that they managed to make me empathize with a character I initially disliked. The other lead, Jiang Pozhen, is the opposite, a soft-spoken and kind soul. It's their contrasting personalities that make the dynamic so interesting. ### What Works Well One of the strongest aspects of "Heart of Glass" is its realism. The characters feel like real people with flaws and vulnerabilities. The MC's journey of emotional growth is particularly compelling. I really appreciated that the author didn't shy away from portraying the difficulties and miscommunications that can arise in a relationship. It's not always smooth sailing, and that's what makes it feel so genuine. The reversed POV, with the story told from the perspective of the seemingly cold MC, is a refreshing twist. It allows us to see his inner thoughts and understand why he acts the way he does, which is what makes the story so interesting. I also enjoyed the exploration of how two very different people can find common ground and build a meaningful connection. The story also doesn't shy away from the emotional burden of love. ### ⚠️ Spoiler Warning Okay, so there's a bit where the MC's ex-girlfriend shows up, and I was bracing myself for drama. But the way the MC handled it was so refreshing! He simply stated that it had to be the ML because he loved him, gender be damned. It was a powerful moment that solidified my appreciation for the story. ### Final Verdict Despite its short length, "Heart of Glass" packs an emotional punch. It's a bittersweet tale of love, acceptance, and personal growth. If you're looking for a fluffy romance, this might not be for you. But if you appreciate well-written characters, realistic relationships, and a story that will make you think, then I highly recommend giving "Heart of Glass" a try. I went in expecting a typical BL novel, but I came out with a newfound appreciation for the complexities of human connection. It's a story that will stay with me for a while.
